    Karate has its roots in Okinawa Islands, Japan. A lot of influence came from the Chinese martial arts which in turn was influenced by the work of Bodhidharma who went from India.     Karate literally means empty (Kara) hand (Te). Often Karate is mentioned as Karate-Do. Thus, it translates to the way of empty hand.     At Kombat Hall, our focus is on the essence of Karate as an art for self-defence and perfection of self. Although our base style is Shitoryu Sanshinkan, which comes from the lineage of Sanshinkan International, we also ensure our warriors undergo boxing, kickboxing, grappling and BJJ to get an overall perspective of the fighting art. Often people confuse Karate with sports Karate, at Kombat Hall, we offer hard traditional training and not just sports based training.
